WICKED FAST 5K HALLOWEEN RUN
Bringing back the Halloween 5K tradition here in Tacoma! The Wicked Fast 5K registration will include t-shirts and glow-in-the-dark Halloween themed medals that are sure to scare the daylights out of you! Registration opens April 2022.

RACE & COURSE INFORMATION
This is a chip timed 5k on a fast, flat and downhill course starting at N. 37th & N. Vassault Street in Tacoma and finishing at Point Ruston’s water walk.
The 5k course is USATF certified (WA21007RMB).
5K COURSE
The 5K Run and Walk starts at 8:00 am sharp at N. 37th & Vassault Street. This is located very close to Vassault Park. The finish of the 5k is at the water walk mural at Point Ruston.

KIDS RUN
The water walk mural is also where the Kids 1K will start at 9:00 am. The kid’s run is an out-and-back, so the runners can cross the official finish line as well.

COSTUME CONTEST
Halloween costumes are not required, but STRONGLY encouraged and you could just win a prize! The costume contest will be at 9:30 AM at the finish line area. We’ll do an adults contest and a kids contest with prizes for both!

Your race packet includes:
Bib number with timing chip, shirt.
We will have packet pickup on day of race from 7:15 AM – 7:45 AM but packet pick up on the October 29th is strongly recommended.
You may pick up someone’s race pack as long as you have permission from them to do so. Written permission is not required.
‘Last Gasp’ registration will be available at the registration table at packet pick up. We accept cash, check, credit card (Visa or Master card). Receipt available upon request.
RACE DAY SCHEDULE
Race Day Packet Pickup: 7:15 AM – 7:45 AM
5k Comienzo: 8:00 AM
Costume Contest (Adults and Kids welcome!): 9:30 AM
Kids 1k Run Start (from 5k finish line area): 10:00 AM
SHUTTLE TO/FROM FINISH LINE AREA
This is a point-to-point race course so the start line is at a different location than the finish line. We will have a free shuttle service to take participants from the finish line area to the starting line area before the race and the shuttle will also run after the race to take finishers back to the start area. The shuttle will board near the Century movie theatres in the Point Ruston shopping area. Shuttles will begin running from movie theatre area at 6:30 am and the last bus will leave the finish line area at 10:15 am.
If you’d prefer not to take the shuttle, you can also use this map to see the quickest way (on foot) from the finish line area back to the starting line area. It’s a great warm-up or cool-down for the race!

AGE GROUP AWARDS (1st place through 5th place)
Age divisions are as follows for both male and female runners: 14 and under; 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-70, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+.

GEAR CHECK
Gear check is provided for your personal items at the start line and brought to finish. Please tear your gear check tab off of your bib, fill out and attach to your gear check bag. Your gear check bag was given to you at packet pick up. Please do not put valuables in your bag. TCMA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. You may claim your bag after you finish by providing your bib number.
FACE MASK/COVERING POLICY
In accordance with Washington state guidelines and recommendations, face masks or face coverings are not needed for fully vaccinated participants. We still strongly recommend unvaccinated participants and those most vulnerable to continue to wear a face mask or covering. We also appreciate your cooperation to continue practicing social distancing whenever possible.
RACE POLICIES
(Please read) TCMA Policies: All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Sorry, no transfers to another individual, and no roll-overs to the following year. All participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in order to participate. Sorry, no exceptions.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Shuttle bus information: The shuttle bus will begin taking racers from the finish (at the Grand Plaza, right in front of the movie theater) to the start (Vassault Park) at 6:15 am and continue until all runners are shuttled back to the start.
- What if I sustain an injury or can’t make it to the event, what are my options? Sorry, there are no refunds or rollovers for medical reasons.
- Can an entry be transferred to someone else? No.
- Can I pick up someone else’s race packet? Yes, as long as you have permission from them to do so. Written permission is not required.
- Can I pick up my race packet on race day? Yes, but is it strongly encouraged that runners pick the packets up on Ocotber 29th.
- What time does the race start? The 5k starts at 8:00 AM. The kids 1K run starts at 9:00 AM.
- Will there be professional photographers on the course? Yes. Race photography will be provided by CJ Photography
- Is the race Chip Timed? Yes, Chip Start and Chip Finish. The chips are on the bib, so there is no need to return anything at the finish. Bibs must be worn on the front of the shirt. Do not fold or cover up the bib.
- Do you get a commemorative shirt when you sign up? Yes
- Do you get a medal for the 2020 event? Yes

- Is the course fast? Yes, it is a net downhill course!
- Can you walk the 5k? Yes
- Are dogs allowed? Sorry, due to liability and insurnace reasons, dogs are not allowed to run at this event.
