It’s a family affair! The Tacoma City Turkey Trot offers a 5K run/walk and a 1K kids run in Tacoma’s beautiful Proctor District. Every finisher receives a medal!

Gobble gobble! The Tacoma City Turkey Trot is a fun 5K Run and Walk on Thanksgiving morning starting at Fleet Feet Sports Tacoma! Whether you are a runner looking for a new PR or you are a walker, there’s no greater way to start your Thanksgiving holiday by coming together with the community and earning that pumpkin pie! We encourage Thanksgiving costumes & accessories!

Gobble gobble! The Tacoma City Turkey Trot Kids1K on Thanksgiving morning starting from Fleet Feet Sports Tacoma is a fun way to get the kids (12 and under) to participate! Grown-ups can run with their kids and do not have to register for this distance. We encourage Thanksgiving costumes & accessories!

We offer a family discount to families of four or more. Please use the family of four or more button to register your family and receive the discount.

(Please read! TCMA Policies) All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Sorry, no transfers to another individual, and no roll-overs to the following year. All participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in order to participate. Sorry, no exceptions.

Day of Race Registration:
Available at Finish Line only (Fleet Feet Sports).

Day of Race Registration will be available at the registration table for 5k $50, Kids 1k $15 (if the race is not sold out)
We accept cash, check, credit card (Visa or Master card). Receipt available upon request.

5k – Day of race registration ends at 8:30 AM if not sold out.

Packet Pick Up Information:

We highly recommend you pick up your packet on Wednesday, November 27th to avoid long lines on race morning.
Packets will not be available before 2:00 PM on Wednesday.
You may pick up someone else’s race pack as long as you have permission from them to do so. Written permission is not required.

Wednesday, November 25th from 2:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Thursday, November 24th from 7:00 AM – 8:45 AM

5K & 1K packet pickup ends at 8:45 AM.

Gear Check Information
Gear check for the 1 MILE and 5K is provided at the FINISH LINE ONLY as a place to store your personal items while you race. Please tear your gear check tab off of your bib and attach to your gear check bag (using the zip tie provided in your gear check bag. A gear check bag will be given to you at packet pick up. Please do not put valuable in your bag. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. You may claim your bag after you finish by providing your bib number.

Parking
Free street parking is available around the Proctor area. There is no parking on N. 26th St. between Proctor St. and N. Adams.
To avoid getting a ticket please avoid parking in either of Safeway’s parking lots.

Awards:
Medals: This year, for the first time everyone will receive a finisher medal!
Awards for the top Overall Male & Female, Top Overall Masters Male & Female, and age group ribbons will be available for pick up at your convenience at the results tent.

Age Group Ribbons:
Age group ribbons will be given out to the top 5 finishers in the following age groups: 9 & under,10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
KIDS receive a finisher ribbon upon crossing the finish line.

How to claim your ribbon:
After you have finished your race check the results computers
If your results are not yet posted please check back again in 10-15 minutes as they are updated often.

If you are in the top 5 in your age group, proceed to the awards table to claim your ribbon. The awards table will be located next to the results computers. Tell the volunteer your placing and they will give you your ribbon. Congratulations!

Rules
To be eligible for overall and age group awards you cannot be paced by or accept aid from a non-registered runner at any time during the event.
USATF rules: if you win both an overall and age group spot you will be presented with both awards. Overall winners ARE NOT knocked out of their respective age group.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I pick up someone else’s race packet? Yes, as long as you have permission from them to do so. Written permission is not required.

I registered, but have learned that I will be unable to participate. Is my entry fee refundable? Our policy is no refunds, no transfers to another individual or to another TCMA event, and no rollovers to the next year’s race. Sorry, no exceptions.

Is there an age limit for the race? There is no age limit for the 5k race as long as your child is able to complete the distance on their own or in a stroller. For the 1K Kids Run we recommend the race for kids 12 and under. Grown-ups can run with their children and do not need to register for the 1K.

What is in my race packet? Your packet will contain a bib number with timing chip and goody bag with promotional offers and coupons from event sponsors and vendors. This bag can also be used as your gear check bag on race day.

What time does the race start? 9:00 AM

Where is the start line located? Both the start and finish will be at the Fleet Feet Sports store in Tacoma (Proctor District).

Is there gear check at the start? Yes, gear check is provided as a place to store your personal items while you race. Will there be a professional photographer at the event? Yes. Race photography will be provided by CJ Photography. Photos are free to all race participants to download.

Where do I find my race results? Results will be available at the results computers following the race. Results will also be available online no later than 5 PM on race day. Check HERE for your results.

Is the race chip timed? Yes. Chip start, chip finish. Timing chips are to be attached to your bib number and do not need to be returned.

Is the course certified? Yes, the course is USATF certified, # WA14034MN.

How many miles is a 5K? A 5K is 3.1 miles. There will be mile markers at each mile point.

Can I walk the race? Yes

Are strollers allowed? Yes

Are dogs allowed? Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs in this race. Sorry – this is per USATF regulations. We cannot make exceptions as this affects our liability insurance.

Where can I park? Free street parking is available around the Proctor area. There is no parking on N. 26th St. between Proctor St. and N. Adams.

Are there porta-potties at the start? Yes, and plenty of them.

Can I wear headphones during the race? Yes, be safe and don’t turn them up so loud that you can’t hear volunteers or police. We recommend leaving one earbud out. Be safe out there.
